National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th- October 15th): This month honors the culture, achievements, traditions and contributions of Hispanic/Latinx Americans, whose heritage is rooted in 20 Latin American countries and territories. Observation of National Hispanic Heritage Month began in 1968 as a single week, which has expanded to a 30-day celebration highlighting Hispanic/Latinx heritage. Celebrate by supporting Hispanic/Latinx-owned businesses, cooking Hispanic/Latinx-inspired meals, listening to Hispanic/Latinx musicians, or watching Spanish-language movies. Ask your students who belong to the Hispanic/Latinx community to share their experiences and culture with you!
